I clicked on a link and a popup appeared on my laptop and locked up my laptop. It said if I powered all my laptop, I'd lose all my documents. I then called the number from the popup and they wanted me to email the a check for $329. I did email it to them, however, I wrote the name of the company wrong. I then got suspicious and turned my computer off and I plan to call tomorrow to stop payment on the check.

I believe they hacked my computers, then told me that I needed the problem fixed, and firewall protection. I soon realized all they did was add some downloadable, temporary apps, and proceeded to charge me for doing so. I felt coerced into setting up a plan to pay them, because I needed my internet service to function properly. They wanted me to deposit money into a bank account through Bank of America.
