In the morning, on April 8, 2018, My personal computer experienced an issue, and the Google Chrome browser keep open new windows and it could not be stopped. Then, a small dialog popped out. It said that your computer is infected with virus, you should call the number 1-800-493-1370 immediately to have the computer fixed, if you close the windows your computer will be disabled. I had not a better choose and then called that number. The people who answer my phone were with strong Indian accent. They were IT men most possibly from India. The guy asked me to allow him a remote access to my computer. After the guy looked my computer he said that my computer was infected with computer and need to be fixed. They charge the service fee of $200.00. I know that it was very expansive, since Microsoft provide removing virus service for free, since I use Microsoft Windows 10. And I used reinstalling Windows operation system service, which costed me only $70. But since I need the computer to work, and then I let them to do the repair. Then That guy asked me for another $200 for installing an internet safety software to protect the PC for one year. $200 plus $200, it cost me $400 for one PC protection for one year. It was too expansive for me , then I could not accept it. Then that guy said that, if not installing the software, the PC will be infected with virus and spyware again. I said that I can choose using other operation system than the Microsoft Windows, which were less vulnerable to the virus and the spywares. That guy said, without their safety ware, all my home devices, including all kinds of PC and phones will be attacked from internet, and I shall loss every user name and password information. Their software will protect all my home devices for internet security for one year. And he could low the price of the software to $149.00. Then the removing virus and one year technique support including the software was for $349.99. That guy sent a letter to me and let me sigh the contract, then put a note in my PC Plan: One time + 1 Year Security & Support, Amount :- $349.99 USD. After I paid the amount of money, another guy in their group scanned the virus in the PC, and then installed a safety software "Security Anyware" which is for one single computer for only 269 days. I have my credit card representative to dispute the scam charge, asking why the real product ( 269 days subscription) is not consistent with the receipt ( 1 year security & Support). The business said because their price was $200 USD, but I paid only $149.99, so they cut the service time to less than 9 months. They used phishing method to trap me into their service, then asked for over prices ( 3-5 times higher compare to regular service charge), and give me the product which was not they promised ( promised to protecting multiple home devises for internet safety for a whole year, but installed a software for a single PC device for only eight months. It is a scam. And their logic is ridiculous, because I paid the discount money then I could not have a full time period service. I would hope them to think the situation. If they buy a discount plane ticket to go back to their home country, can the airline throw them out of the plane on their half way home and saying that because they paid a discount rate for the service?

My elderly father got a screen that claimed he had a virus and his bank accounts were probably being compromised at that moment. the message urged him not to turn off his computer and to call 1-800-391-7918 immediately. He called and they charged him $700 dollars to remove the virus and have a 1 year subscription. they later offered a $60 but will retain the rest.
