I was contacted by phone by someone claiming to be with Norton Security saying that problems were detected on my computer that needed to be fixed. He asked for access to my computer, which I foolishly agreed to. He showed me the alleged problems and said he could fix them and install protective software, at a "lifetime rate" of $349.00. After he supposedly fixed those problems and downloaded AVG software, I paid the fee. Then the receipt I printed out identified the company as Technet Software Solutions of Irvine, CA. I'm now receiving online notices that I have an illegal form of AVG software, and saying I need to purchase a one-year legal license. I will be contacting Technet to try to recoup my $349. but am not optimistic about it.
