Tech Secure Reports & Reviews (5)

The company "Tech Secure" called and advised that they owe me a refund but I had to sign on to the computer so they can take their software off and then I could fill out the information they needed to process the refund. When I asked for more information i.e his name he gave me Mac Smith and a alias number to ask for him by, he also gave me a call back number (315) 201-4372 and insisted that I call back immediately and ask for him (he kept asking was I calling back right now). I hung up and called my technical support company who advised it was a scam and took all the information to report it. The "scam technician" called me back and when I advised that he was a scam he cursed me out. The people are persistent they have called me several times and will call you back to back. I was advised that your real technical support company will not call you, you will call them with a problem. These calls had a (315) area code. Please be aware these people are very persistent he had my name and my address.

On August 8, at 4:01pm a caller identified himself as Sam Darlington of Tech Secure which he claimed is a technical department of Windows Operating Systems. He told my wife that two people were trying to log into my computer to get confidential information. These were people with foreign names. Sam said not to do online banking, make purchases and to turn off my computer. She gave the phone to me.

I told him I did not own a computer and he said he would cancel my internet service and make sure we never had internet service again. I said that sounded like a threat and he started his pitch again. When I got all of his contact information I stated I was going to call The ScamPulse.com and he hung up.

Stated that *** *** and *** *** were trying to access my computer. Wanted me to allow him to block them or he would remove my security code. When I refused he eventually gave me a very long group of numbers and letters that was supposedly my security code. He then wanted me to go into my computer, which I refused to do. He said I was wasting his time and I hug up.

1. Caller indicated my computer was generating viruses and spreading them and they were calling

to help me stop this problem.

2. They were not changing any money for their services.

3. They indicated it was a problem with the software I received with my computer.

[The security package is not what was provided with the computer.]

4. They could not identify any characteristics about my computer.

They could not identify my Internet Protocol Address or other networking information to trace it back to me.

They did not know my name.

They did not know where they were calling.

5. Hung up on them.
