Hacker called back on a different local telephone number and addressed me by name ONE DAY after calling from a different local number to tell me my computer had a trojan "very bad" malware and that hackers had gained access to my personal computer.

- Columbus, IN, USA

I got a phone call the afternoon of January 5, 2019 identified as IBM Corp. When I answered an "India" sounding guy using the name of Elton Lawrence identified himself from Tech Support and told me hackers were trying to take over my computer. Asked me to get on my computer and press the Window key and the R key, then type cmd, net stat and look at all the tcps (said meant third connected party). Said my computer had the Alureon virus and needed SSL. Also told me 5,000 of my pictures had been loaded to a porn site. I didn't believe him but was scared and he had answers for everything I asked. Even gave me his employee ID code (MS785106). Price went from $799 for a year to $3,199 for a lifetime, to $498 to $398. Told him I couldn't afford it and my computer went blank. I couldn't do anything. I hung up several times and they called back again and again. I also talked with a woman named Annie several times (Indian too). He finally said since I reminded him of his Grandmother he would install it free but could I pay the installation fee of $398.43 for SSL Security for Lifetime. I told him I would not give out my credit card number, so they said they would mail me an invoice. That was finally mailed to me from Miami, FL on January 30. I did give him access to my computer (and felt stressed and that I was doing the wrong thing the whole time). At one time, I could see them scrolling through my picture files. These are the things that were installed on my computer:

My Tech

SSL IP Home Protection

Network Security

My Tech Support

Firewall Security

CCleaner

EventClean

CleanUP

Anti Hacking Tool Kit

Advanced Network

Hitman Pro

I removed all the Ikons and programs on January 6 and ran scans. I have also changed my Microsoft Password and reported this to the Credit Bureaus. They have called me several times to make sure my computer is working okay and tell me that my invoice is in the mail and that I promised to pay $398.43. I do not answer these calls, but the messages are on my answering machine.
