Someone from this "so called" company will call you, claiming to be an asset manager that has an REO listing for you. They direct you to their website and show you how to log in, send you Service Agreements for signatures, the whole 9 yards. They claim the Realtor needs to put down a deposit of $449 for each listing, which will be refunded at closing or after 12 months if no closing by then. In the 12 years I have been handling REO listings, I have never put down a "deposit", so was wondering a bit about that. But they sure seemed legit....but then again most scammers do. Needless to say, you can contact them all you want, they will give you the run around by email and if your lucky enough to get someone on the phone again, still just the run around. No listings and no refunds. They flat out steal your $449! Do not give these people any money.

Paid $400 plus dollars to enroll in system to engage in Real Estate activities. Received a few assignments and after that to this date no answer or response to calls to anyone in the Company, not even customer service.

I was contacted by a gentleman for services in real estate for a local property that is currently in an REO status. He identified himself as a referral company that works with Bank of America and their REO properties. He said that they would have me check for occupancy, do a BPO of the home and exterior photos. He provided me with the property address and that I would secure the listing for this property and they would pay a 7% listing commission and in return a 1% referral fee would be returned to them. I would also have to pay them a one time upfront fee of $449 for a preservation deposit as good faith and that was for the changing of the locks and other items done upfront. But this money would be returned to me once the property was secured and listed. I would then be their exclusive agent for that area. I told him that I would need to do my own due diligence and he provided me with the property address. I looked the property up and the home is still owned by the current owner which is not Bank of America and the property is listed with another agent who is licensed in the State of Oregon to which the property is currently under contract as a short sale pending. I contacted an associate of mine at Bank of America to which he told me that they only use Safeguard Properties regarding their REO properties. I contacted Safeguard and the customer service lady told me that they are the only company that handles BofA's REO properties and that it is most likely a scam. These people need to be stopped and Realtors need to be protected from these kinds of scams.
