About six weeks ago, we began receiving multiple daily phone messages from "Brian at the Tax Relief Center" claiming that we owe back taxes (we don't) and that they can help. All of the phone numbers originate from the Syracuse, New York area (315 area code). Caller ID identifies the callers by their upstate New York towns (i.e. Auburn, Eagle Bay, Gouverneur, Harrisville, Lyons Falls, Munnsville, Ogdensburg, Phelps, Raquette Lake, Star Lake, etc.). If you wait on the line to speak to a live person, the call disconnects. It's infuriating.

I’ve been getting this scam phone call from various 315 numbers every day.

And the list keeps going. All of these phone numbers are claiming to be a guy named Brian from the Tax Relief Center. I have the voicemail saved:

“Hello, this is Brian from the tax relief center. Our records indicate you qualify for the IRS fresh start program which could help you reduce your unpaid tax debt or resolve on file tax year. This is an excellent opportunity to get back on track with the IRS call 1- 8 7 7- 2 0 0- 5 0 9 8 today to learn more that's 1- 8 7 7- 2 0 0- 5 0 9 8.”

I have recd unwanted telemarketing calls from Tax Relief Center since early March, 2025. I started keeping track in April and from 4/4/25 to 4/18/25 I recd 11 calls almost daily and at time twice a day. The calls are from cities in New York state and the phone numbers are always different. Since numbers are different it is useless to try and block the humbers. We have been enrolled in "Do Not Call" Registry since 2003. The call is the same recorded message.

They always call from a different number. Usually from New York. They call multiple times a day to my home phone as well as my mobile. I immediately block the number when they call. They tell you to call 1-877-200-5098, which I will not do.

These guys have been call our number 2-3 time a day for the past month. We are a non-profit and have no tax liability. I have asked to be removed from their call list but the calls keep coming. Every time they call the call comes from a different phone number so you can't block the call.

Brian from the tax relief center has left me multiple voice mail message from different 315 area code numbers. Says to get back on track with the IRS call 877-200-5098. You can't block their incoming number since they keep using different ones. Very annoying

They left a message saying they wanted to help with my back taxes that their system shows as well as my missing tax filings (I am an accountant and my family's taxes have never even been late). I called the number back...just because...and when I asked where the info left on the voicemail came from, they hung up on me...twice.

The business name that I provided above is what the recording said when my call back to them was answered.

Phone number 626-531-0551 called my cell last night (6:45pm) and a recording said it was the Tax Relief Center. The recording went on to say thanks to a "new 2018 Fresh Start program" I could eliminate my tax debt FAST! (I don't have nor have ever had any tax debt). It also said to leave a message and "we'll have one of our tax specialists get back to you." The recording was a male's voice, sounded young and not super professional or believable.

Then then these scammers call with a different phone number at list once s day. They use local numbers

And one 800 no’s

They never quit. Once your listed in public records, the scammers research you or your on s public list,

Why doesn’t these people get FINED 2 stop these people there should be A $10,000.00

After the first call 2 call $15,000,00 and keep going up

I’m even registered with the DO NOT CALL LIST AND TEXT MEDSAGES.

Fine for every call made after being warned

That doesn’t help, it’s temporary fix.

I’ve dealing with these calls for 5 to 6 years.
