I missed a call today from 518-636-7719. When I retrieved the voicemail, it was an automated message, in broken English, which informed that they were with the tax department and I had 4 violations against me and that I would be arrested if I didn't call them back to resolve the matter. Here is what the message said: "This is notification regarding your tax filings from the headquarters which will get expired in next 24 working hours. And once it get expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local police as there are 4 serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment. We would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss about this case before taking any legal action against you. The number to reach us is 518-636-7719, I repeat, 518-636-7719. Thank you.". I typed it EXACTLY how the message played; broken english with poor grammar. I had to laugh when I heard the message. I know people who really do work for the IRS and any communication they have with an individual is by mail. THE IRS DOES NOT CALL PEOPLE ABOUT TAX ISSUES!!!!!
