I don't really completely understand the process (I am a fool), but luckily enough my bank was able to catch what was going on and let me know that I was being scammed. Here is what happened. I got an offer for a WFH job. The role seemed too good to be true, but this 'company' had a website, very professional emails, and were registered in the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. They had me sign a bunch of official documents for employment and then told me to create a new bank account in order to tie it with a Cryptocurrency account. When I asked why I needed a personal bank account attached if I was to help other clients, I was told that the use of personal information/account is required since the exchange platforms that I would be working with accept wire transfers only from personal accounts. That was the biggest red flag, but I thought that since I did not understand cryptocurrency that maybe I just was unfamiliar with the process. Other red flags were that I could not find this company on BBB.org, Linkedin, or any other platform for reviews. Also, the website to officiate my employment wouldn't work properly, and I had to send him a lot of information via phone. Anyway, I went ahead and tried to open a new bank account, but the process was taking a long time. I called the bank to see what was taking so long for my new account to be opened. When I explained to them the urgency I had to start this job, they immediately understood the situation and let me know I was being scammed.

This company appears to be a scam. They advertise that they assist clients with a wide range of services, including providing help with cryptocurrency transactions. I went through the process to become employed by the company, to "become an assistant", as a part-time job. The process seemed to be legitimate until the final few steps. I was asked to open a new personal checking account in order to conduct business on behalf of the company. I was to receive wire transfers from clients into my personal bank account and then conduct a transaction on the client's behalf. These transactions were for purchases of cryptocurrency and would be large amounts - in the range of tens of thousands of dollars. This was a red flag to me, as I should not be asked to open a personal checking account to conduct business on their behalf -- that would result in me being personally liable for the transactions. When I requested more clarification on this questionable practice, I was only assured that 'we will cover you.' Upon further investigation of the company, I found that the website seems to be illegitimate ("clients" cannot even create an account to sign up for services, as the link to create an account is broken), and the customer service phone number leaves you on hold for 30 minutes before it automatically hangs up.

I wish i wouldve looked into this further before agreeing to employment. Ive received hardly any communication since a "client" reported a deposit as fraudulent & had it taken out of my account, which is now in the negative thousands. If anyone has any advice (ive already let the fraud dept of my bank know & plan on closing the account once the investigation is over with) it would be greatly appreciated. Ive never felt so sick.

I am currently an assistant with this org, how do I know this is fraud? Communication and payment has been constant. What liabilities am I open to now?

I agree it is fraud. I had the same experience to "become an assistant". They want you to communicate through Telegram chat app. I even looked up one of the photos on from the Telegram chat app, and it was someone else photo they stole online. It is true they want you open up checking account under your name. Big red flag.
