The person contacted me and said they could fix the Wikipedia page I had worked on that had been rejected. They said they would only charge me if the Wikipedia page went live. Then it would be $280. It seemed safe to me. After a couple of months they said they had "notability" issues and needed to consult with another editor but it would cost another $200. The next day they sent me a link to the page. It was a real Wikipedia page, so I paid them. Then next day the page was taken down. It almost seems like an inside job- perhaps a rogue insider. They requested that I pay them by bank wire and gave me these details:

I did not want to have to go to the bank and asked for an alternative. They gave me a link to a "Payoneer" page, which asked for my bank account info. I refused to enter it, and finally paid them by Paypal.
