Talent Admin Reports & Reviews (1)

- Davenport, FL, USA

I applied to a job (administrative assistant on Indeed.com). I did not get the job however weeks later I received an email from [email protected] saying that my resume/cover letter was submitted to their Application Track System portal by Indeed for the position of Admin Assistant at Talent Admin Company. They thought I was a good fit for the position and I should write back if I wanted to do an interview. I wrote back saying I was interested and they told me to message Human Resources Manager Ms. Alicia Mason via google hangout at [email protected] also ([email protected]). I messaged her and setup an interview time thinking it would be a video call. On the day of the interview I messaged her and she proceeded to ask me questions via google hangout. At the end she said they would forward this interview session to the hiring board for further review and that I would receive the outcome of the interview in my email before the end of the day. They sent me an offer letter but it was from a company called Freudenberg Consulting. Then they sent me another offer letter for Talent Admin. When I asked about this she said it was an error and that this was a partner company. I thought this was odd but with Covid I thought maybe this is just how things are done virtually now. I was hesitant because we did not video chat but I signed it and sent my driver's license as they asked. Then I began training which was for 1 hour for 5 days. The first day she asked me questions regarding ethics via google hangout message. The second day she sent an excel sheet for me to add data to via email. The third day another excel sheet. When I asked about meeting she said "absolutely .After your training, you will be assigned your login details to the company's portal where you will be able to connect to your supervisor and various departments via audio and virtually okay." She said that "I'm pleased to inform you that your provisional payment check for your materials and your $100 training pay has been mailed to your address and you should have it this morning. Do let me know immediately you receive it okay." A Fedex package arrived with a check from people driven credit union for $1,956.25. I let her know I received it and she said to make a mobile deposit and get back to her with a screenshot or receipt from the deposit. I was not comfortable with this and was now sure this was a fraud. I wrote back saying I could not deposit the check. She asked what financial institution I operate with and I asked why do you need this? She wrote back saying this was very unusual and that she didn't need my bank account number just the name of the institution. I asked why she was not answering my question and she said that she did and was trying to figure out why it could not be deposited. I said no my question is why do you need a screenshot. She said for documentation purposes. I told her that this seemed sketchy and unprofessional. She replied asking if I deposited the check and I said I quit. She said "You want to run away with the company's funs with you?". I told her I turned the check over to the police and not to contact me. She said she will report me to the police as well. Then I proceeded to block her on google hangout. I also reported the job on Indeed.
