I received a call on my home phone about a week ago. They identified themselves as being with System Support. A division of AT&T. As part of their program they monitor and any strange activity on my computer. Appeared my computer had been hacked by North Korea. Ransom worm. He said it infected my files and E mail. Because of all the activity it was lowering the speed on my computer. They offered to clean up my computer. I was hesitant. I hung up. He called back two days His name was Jordan. There were five issues. Two he could repair for free. The other three issues would require me to purchase software for $299.00. They gave me a senior discount. To clean up the viruses on my computer. I thought they were connected with AT&T. They requested an electronic check transfer. I provided my routing number and account number. That was a red flag to my bag. He provided me with a security code. They took over control of my computer. The company phone number is 855-800-2491. Jordan told me they are located in Pasadena CA. I contacted my bank. The payment was stopped. I did not lose any money. It all sounded so legitimate.
