Sykes company Scam

I was offered a position at Sykes company this [censored] send me a fake check and asked me to Zelle pmts to a few people and some on Pay Pal and also buy Apple Gift cards. At one point after PayPal declined pmts I got alerted and realized this was a scam I lost $1000 in this scam and my bank has closed my account

Hello It was posted on Facebook and turns out to be a scam as I dig further in my research I'll post pics below. Kept bothering and calling me to put down a check in my account for 1,250 and that I can keep 50 only . I said no I don't got paper and still kept bothering me getting mad too.

What to do?

I am currently speaking with this scammer. Same as story above. Any ideas on what I should do? Anyway to get all this info to sue these guys or something before I call them out.

Employment Scam

Started off with a contact by text similar to other responses here. Was asked to add a "John Bell" on Telegram or Skype with verification code RX-350.

Offer seemed off from the beginning but continued with the "interview" as I was not fully aware of the scam at the moment. Below are the conversations (with some personal information omitted) so that others can hopefully find this before falling victim to anything.

After some point it started to feel very weird and awkward, at which point I found this page and realized what was going on. At the time of this writing, I am currently waiting to try to fish for more concrete evidence to pull apart the seams. May update further in a reply once I talk to them again and see what more information they want.

The Pay Scale is $30/hour, Kindly reply back with your EMAIL ADDRESS and YES I AM if interested. Thank you!

You have been scheduled for an online interview now with the Hiring Manager Mr John Bell. He will be the one to brief you more about the job position and the company.

Once I added him first off, he missed our interview time. The. He gave me a full on interview using copy paste from their website to describe the company. I subtly asked questions to see how far they’d go, I figured it was a scam when he gave me specific shifts to choose from, and then when I turned it down and said I couldn’t do it, suddenly it was a flexible job and I could set my own hours? Yeah right. Also there were spelling mistakes.

Sent out several resumes so I wasn't on guard when I recvd a txt advising to send email address. I advised it's on my resume but the job listed was for good hourly amount. I knew it was too good to be true. Key phrase. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Anyway back and forth and then I ranked 98% out of 100. What did I do? Nothing. Just answered some questions without giving any info that's harmful. They did ask which bank and I gave false bank name. Then the kicker. I asked for offer letter along with info. They advised I would get it along with a check to purchase equipment. Ah ha. Gotcha. Scam scam scam. Plus emails were covered with errors which is a sign the scammers are more then likely not American as the emails are mainly broken English. Good but not good enough.

I can vouch for this as well. I saw a post about the same thing with the job that pays $19 an hour and all. I did exactly what was told to do. Interview was quick and easy. Then, "Mrs. Kate Polluck" told me that there will be an email with the company's check. Told me to print and deposit it asap. At this point, she was bring aggressive with printing and depositing the check and told me to screen shot it for her to confirm. I told her that I ran out of ink. She kept rushing it and said need to be done ASAP. I did try my best to go get and look for my ink but servere places don't have. She kept pushing. Luckily, I had another job offer and told her I will have to decline. She come back stating I will hear from her lawyer. I haven't signed anything or print out "their" check. I also check on internet about the routing number and it came back scam. So, please be very careful.

A person named Deborah Williams posted on Facebook a work from home opportunity for data entry for $20. I sent her a personal message saying I was interested in the position. She then replied telling me it is a part-time work from home job, there are 2 positions available, I need to download telegram messenger on my phone to be redirected to the company's hiring manager for the hiring process. I downloaded the app and was connected. I was then asked typical interview questions by a Kate Pollock, a description of the job, and the company. I got the job on the spot and then was told they do not mail paychecks, they only do direct deposit. I was hesitant to do anything with them, but they reassured me It was not a scam. I was also asked for my address, DOB, Phone number, and photo ID. They then told me they will need to send me a check to deposit in my account and then I will be given the information as to who to send the money to for my work supplies. They sent me 5 checks in total within a 3-4 day period because stuff still needed to be added as far as software goes on the apple computer I was going to order. I deposited these checks and then sent the money where I was told to. After a few days my bank account started going negative and the bank called me saying the checks were fraudulent and I would need to repay it to the bank. I have tried to contact the Sykes company to fix this issue and they kept telling me their accounting department would fix this issue. They have not and I have had to close my bank account and file a police report as well as take out a loan to repay what was taken from the bank. These people are clever in how they do things, I just hope it does not happen to someone else. I am a mother of 4 and this hit us hard. Companies like this are taking advantage of people during our pandemic. Be aware!
