I learned of Sweetbarks in my search for a litterbox enclosure. The company's products turned up in multiple searches on different mass online retailer sites so I decided to see if they had a website of their own. They did; it looked modern, every product featured had a decent amount of very thorough reviews and the negative or neutral ones weren't hidden. They were advertising a Spring promotion of 10% off as well as free shipping which made for a significantly better deal than any of the third party options were offering. I did search to see if there were any negative experiences with the business posted elsewhere out there on the internet but nothing turned up; admittedly, it wasn't a terribly deep dive, just a cursory search. It looked legit enough that I decided to make the purchase. Confirmation email received within seconds and it advised I would receive follow-up with shipping details when they were available. Straightforward enough. Well, a few days passed and no follow-up. Two days shy of a full week later, I hit up their website chat service just to see if I could get an expectation of when the order may ship but no one replied. I kept the session open for two days - it stayed connected and went completely ignored. After the first full day of no chat reply, I turned to email and that also went ignored. I tried calling the phone number listed on the website and the person who answered acted as if they had no idea what I was talking about. They told me I had the wrong number and hung up. I emailed Sweetbarks again after this, letting them know about the phone call and asking for an explanation. I also advised that I would be disputing the transaction. Lo & behold, within a half hour of sending that email I received a reply with an apology for the inconvenience and an advisement that my order would be refunded. Minutes after that, a second email from Sweetbarks containing refund notification came through. Zero attempt to acknowledge or explain the lack of communication or the phone number. I don't doubt that this was a legit business at one time; the products are absolutely out there and have been sold through places like Chewy, Amazon, Wayfair, etc all with reviews & photos.. but there's definitely something not right going on over there currently.
