I was contacted by email to enroll in a gift card secret shopper program. They sent me what looked like a legitimate check to deposit in my account, and then to use that money to buy 3 gift cards as a secret shopper. They sent me a questionaire to fill out about my experience buying the cards and said they would give me additional instructions once i bought the cards. I did not deposit the check because I read that this can be a scam where the bank will issue money before they have time to adequately verify the authenticity of the check. And they wanted me to take a picture of the gift card numbers after purchase and send them the pictures. I also read that they will use those numbers to buy what they want and then their checks will bounce in the bank you deposited them in.
