I received an envelope in the mail that was addressed to myself. Inside the envelope was a survey questionnaire, survey instructions and a rather legit check/money order. I deposited the check into my checking account as it had instructed as well as texted this number to verify the money was deposited. My next step was to purchase 4 Best Buy gift cards totaling $1,600. This was going to leave me $400 out of the $2,000 that was from the check as an incentive to compete this assignment/survey. After I purchased the gift cards I was then supposed to complete this survey form and then email a picture of the back of all four cards with the silver strip scratched off (red flag), along with the form and a picture of the receipt to a specific email. They messaged me back saying the received the information and I needed to wait for my second assignment. I was scammed out of a $1,600 and has put me in a very big financial hole.
