They send a text messages about an online job opportunity via Site Payroll and then ask for your driver’s license number and social security number. Here are the texts:
Sure Payroll is Currently Hiring Personal Assistant to work from home online job Offer. Employee might work for 3-4 hours in a day for 4 days and earn $600 weekly. Employees may choose to take Sunday,Friday Saturday off or any other three days to meet their desired schedule even if you’re currently working. Let me know if you’re interested.

Okay kindly send me a front and back copy of I’d card with 9 digit ssn for identity verification.No background check but we have to do a identity verification to have your info uploaded on our database before we can start with the assignment. You will receive an agreement form with our company letter head after the process is complete then we can start with the first task.

You send me all of your forms and then I will verify with Sure Payroll that this is a legit job vacancy. I never give out my drivers license and social security number over a text message.

I was initially contacted via text after inquiring about work from home positions. The text said “Hello Surepayrol is looking for individual who is interested in payroll assistant pay is 3000 Monthly.. You'll be working two hours work at home job with the use of a computer, colored printer and scanner with internet access. Click the Link bellow for more details http://tiny.cc/kjgqdz”. Once I clicked the link I was directed to a website which I provided above to fill out an application which was very short and required little personal info, wasn’t asked about experience or anything, almost immediately after I submitted the application I was contacted via text message from A Tomas Givens and he was very persistent he sent a list to my email address of checks to get started on, when asked how I would receive my salary he said money gram or western union which I thought was sketchy but I continued to play along stating it was unorthodox to receive a paycheck that way he then stated PayPal, paper check, direct deposit, which did I prefer?. Then once I gathered the materials needed to perform the duties he sent some work for me to start on and I questioned about his hiring process and he then sent an “agreement contract” to my email address and I finally contacted someone at sure payroll and was informed that this was in fact a scam and to not follow through with it so that led me here to report this scam attempt. I am currently at a loss for $43 for the blank checks and envelopes which I can return to amazon for a refund but it is an inconvenience to say the least!
