We received the exact email the scam report from 01/18/2022 described telling us they had renewed our firewall and anti-virus protection automatically. and had billed our account. I checked our banks and credit cards and no transactions for the amount had taken place. . Several months ago we received a message on our answering machine wanting us to renew for the same amount so this was a definite red flag..

This is the opening statement of the email:

This is to inform you that your Windows Firewall & Anti-Virus Protection Plan has been Successfully Auto-Renewed today by using the payment method provided to us at the time of Purchase. This Charge of USD299.99 was setup by you to be Yearly and it has been auto debited from your account today and should appear into your bank statement within 48 hours.
