I received a phone call that "support services" needed to make sure that my computer didn't have any apps on it that should not be there. He attempted to tell me that I needed the cash app in order to do so. When I questioned him he said that I didn't have to pay for anything I just needed to be able to download the app and put in my card information. I did not, but think it's quite strange that someone would expect me to do that with just the explanation "you don't have to pay for anything".

Right now I am a mom of one and I’m looking for a work from home job, I applied for this job in indeed and I so happen to come across and apply for the work from home position because I really need a job, the senior recruiter reached out to me for my resume I sent it and they told me I had the job, she went on to proceed to tell that they are sending me a check to purchase equipment for the job, I was excited about this new career. When I went to Walmart to cash it at the wood forest bank they said it was a fraudulent check

 consumer was downloading tracks through Windows Media Player, and a pop up page came up with a blue background with a "call for support" with the phone number above provided. Support.microsoft.com. Windows Security/Microsoft Edge says the information is being stolen and going to some remote area. It is a "microsoft Spyware alert". The message was telling consumer not to leave the page, and if she did, they will disable her IP address. It's a recorded voice that repeats over and over again. Consumer did call the phone number, and spoke with someone named David, saying he was with Microsoft support. He asked if she was Deborah. He also said he was in Washington, but would not disclose the city. David hung up on her when she got on the phone with the BBB.

I was contacted online and it popped up on my screen. I called the help line number they gave me. They took control of my computer and started scrolling through files. I'm afraid they will get personal information from my computer.
