Type of a scam Phishing
Told them I wanted to cancel order as I did not purchase product. He said "No problem", but I will need you to pull up "Go to Assist Customer" website and let me log into your computer with you, to issue the credit. He then said we needed to verify the credit card in order to refund the purchase price. I gave him last 4 digits and he said he needed to verify complete number. Then he came back and said the credit did not go through to my card, so he ask if I had an Amazon card so he could send me a gift card for the credit. Dummy me, gave him the Amazon card number, and once again he said he was having trouble issuing the gift card for the credit. He then ask if I had a Walmart card. I told him this did not sound right, but he told me he knew Walmart would issue the gift card credit. Again, dummy me, gave him the card number. I then noticed charges going over my computer, using my credit card number to issue the gift cards. I mentioned this to him and he said I was wrong and he was sending me the gift cards. I then noticed his email as the recipient, and I told him to STOP, and I was calling my bank. He then got all flustrated, and ended up hanging up on me. Between my bank, Amazon and Walmart, there were over $800 worth of gift cards charged to me on each account and sent to a different email address! All accounts have been closed, new cards have been requested and hopefully, all charges were reversed. All of this happen because I received an email with a confirmation for a item I had NOT ordered.
