I went online to apply for a loan to get money for a down payment for a vehicle ($5000). I received this call from a man stating he was from Suntrust, which I believed him because I had lived in Florida and had Suntrust as my bank there. He told me he could help me so I was happy to hear that of course, my credit wasn't the best. He asked some questions and then said, 'hold on let me know if we can get the loan manager to accept this.' So a few minutes later he came back saying it was accepted. Then he said I needed to go get a $200 prepaid card to pay for the fees for the loan. I was confused at first but since I haven't had a loan in a long time I just thought this must be the way they do loans now. So off I went to get the prepaid card. Came back to call him with the info on it. Then he says, 'ok now we need $250 to process the loan.' I'm like, 'really?' He says, 'Yes do you want the loan?' So off I went again to get that prepaid card. Came back called him with the info. AGAIN, he says, 'Last part of the loan is to pay $500 for us to deposit the money into your account. We will need your ID and password to your checking.' I said, 'no one gets my ID or password!' So he says, 'well we can't deposit the money in your checking if we don't have it. Do you want this loan?' I told him he had my checking account number so that should be enough to deposit the money. He came back at me with, 'well, your credit isn't the best so we need this to protect us too.' I didn't have the $500 so had to borrow from a friend. I got the $500 prepaid card and called him with the info on it, asking him when will the money be deposited now. He said within 24 hours. So I waited 24 hours, then two days, then three days!!! Called the number I had and just got an answering machine. Kept calling and still no answer. HE GOT ME!!!!!
