Type of a scam Employment
about 3 weeks ago and was informed that her role will be an independent quality inspector. She was informed that
she will receive packages and inspect for damages, document it and reship the package back. Her compensation
would be about $2300 monthly and $30 for every task completed. She has received about 8 packages so far. At the
7th packaged she was informed to present to UPS with a authorization letter along side a copy of a US passport.
This information was emailed to her. When she went to UPS this week to pick up the package with the letter she
was told by the clerk that it was fraud. We realized that there was a shipping sticker that was covered on the box
with a contact number. When we called the number ( 678-634-1976) a karen wu picked up and informed us that
she had been a victim and her package was redirected. I informed her that we notified the authorities and she
thanked us. Twenty mins later we got a call from 678-945-2964 a guy claiming to work for fedex with employee
badge number 2119428. He was inquiring about the package and if he could pick it up. I told him that we would
like to hand the packages in to the authorities. HE called me a psycho and hung up the phone. I recorded all
conversations and also we have all the email correspondence for the employment process. We also have pictures of
shipping labels. I suspect that Karen wu is a fictitious name. We have three brand new laptops and a camera
system that we plan to turn into the police department this week once a report is filed. I am reporting this so no one falls victim to this kind of organized crime.
