I call the number provided. 888-218-0804 and was asked about my vehicle year, make, and model to confirm and my current mileage.
I'm told I'm eligible for extended 5-year warranty that would cost a little under $400 down with payments a little under $400 for 12 months and given another extended option. I ask the woman the full price on the warranty and she hands me off immediately to a guy. At no point have I been given the name of this company. I ask and am told it's Sunpath Administrative Warranty. The guy tells me the total cost of the warranty - $4403. I tell him I'll have to think about it, he asks me a few questions then tells me I can get a rate of $3703. I tell him I'll think about it and I've got their number and can call back. He proceeds to tell me that I'm delinquent on my coverage and they've extended it but I need to pay to keep it. They won't be able to keep this coverage on the vehicle if I wait. Will this be Visa or MasterCard? I tell him I never signed up for coverage with them so I can't be delinquent. He tells me I did with the dealership when I purchased (I have my records and there's no auto renewal indicated in those documents). I tell guy I'll think about it and call them later as I've got their number. Guy starts saying that oh people wait till they wreck their car then renew coverage. I tell him that doesn't even make sense. And waiting a couple of hours to think on something is not the same. Very rude, pressure filled. Constantly going back to asking will this be on a visa or MasterCard. Such a scam! I feel bad for people who take these scam artists on their word and make that payment.
I called back and asked a woman to take me off their list and she immediately said she could do that. If I in fact had an agreement or contract with them, removal from a list couldn't happen. Horrible business. No idea if they are in fact a legitimate business with horrible manipulative tactics or if they are entirely a sham.
