I was contacted regarding using my video business to capture an event they claimed would be in Louisville, KY. They requested a quote for event capture and same day editing for a grand opening/ribbing cutting at their new location. I sent a quote and they accepted and said they would send a 2 day package with a check for my fee of $1500. They sent a tracking number as well. The check arrived for an amount of $4850. The cashier's check was from a Credit Union in Denver, CO. I contacted the credit union and they said the check was fake after seeing an image of it. The scammer then asked if I received the check and I said yes so they explained that their payment person had made a mistake and for me to get another cashier's check for the difference made out to a different individual in Dallas, GA.
