I was given a gift card in December 2021, I did not open or attempt to use that gift card until August 24th, 2022. Upon checking the balance of this "new" card I found that it had been drained completely. The transactions took place in January 2022 in California according to my statement. The card was purchased for my by a family member in Seattle Washington also displayed on my statement. I did not open the card, share the numbers with anyone else, or let it leave my home since it has come into my possession. I disputed the charges through Visa, but I am still waiting for resolution.
