I put in an interest for a remote administrative assistant at Sonoma State University on LinkedIn. I received a message from "Steve Gradman" about a position for an administrative assistant at CoinFlip. He sent me a interview link via email to complete. After I completed the interview link, he emailed me and offered me a job as an administrative assistant/surveyor. After he offered me the job, he started texting telling me what I'll be doing, etc. He emailed me a check for $2,795 a week before I was suppose to start "working". He said that it was my paycheck and money to buy supplies. He told me the check could only be deposited to my bank via mobile app. I wouldn't be able to go to the actual bank and deposit the check (because it wasn't a valid check). The routing number on the check did not match any bank in the world, and the bank name that was on the check had a different routing number on their website. I googled CoinFlip and send them an email to their support team. They stated that the check did not belong to them. I texted "Steve" to let him know what CoinFlip said, and I haven't heard from him since.
