Contacted on Facebook and accepted a friend request from Steve Pritchett of Greenwood, IN. I gave him my phone # and we texted. Had two voice calls & I questioned him about his foreign accent (sounded Nigerian). He said he was born in Portugal. He acted like the typical Romance Scammer and professed his love & tried to initiate phone sex. Some new tactic is he insisted I "max out my credit card" and he would pay for it. He constantly instructed me to "go shopping & max out the card" because I deserve to be pampered. He refused video calls. I have done research on current scams being used and I firmly believe this man is attempting to use naive women selected from Facebook for money laundering. He uses the typical "romance scammer" tactics to immediately "profess his love". He insists that the woman he is trying to scam maxes out her credit card and he will pay for it (because, of course, she deserves to be treated that way). He kept ordering me to "go shopping" and max out my card. He also instructed another woman on Facebook to do the same. She posted on his Facebook calling him a "scammer". I messaged her and she responded; said he used the same game with her, telling her to max out her credit card. I don't know how many other women he has involved. This is definitely an attempt to launder stolen money.

I believe his name and city/state are probably fake. I have notified Facebook and the Greenwood, IN Police Department. You need to investigate this and report it to the proper authorities. Please stop this predator from involving innocent women in this scam....
