A man claiming to be Steve Murray addressed me by name correctly and calmly. Once he realized he was speaking to the contact he was looking for her said he was with S and B Processing, and that I had missed a court date and the State of New York was trying to get in contact with me to move forward with legal repercussions. I asked what the case was for, a parking ticket? Traffic Violation? His response was that the legal documents were sealed and I would need to take a claim number and phone number to call and sort it out. He asked me to repeat back the telephone number and claim number to ensure I had the correct information. I told him I had no idea what this was about and he said I would just need to call. Before hanging up he casually threw in I had one hour to sort this out or I would be charged. He seemed knowledgable, polite and concerned so it seemed accurate but the red flag was my limited time frame and his lack of information when I asked questions. I did call the number, knowing it was likely a scam and I was put on hold. I did not talk to anyone in the second phone call.
