Type of a scam Employment
From the scammer:
Congratulations, you meet my requirements for this role and you have been confirmed for the position. You will fill in all necessary paperwork once I return, in the meantime I will be sending you details of errands to help me with next week, such as arranging travel itinerary; flights and hotels. Please note that I will only have access to wifi in my hotel or office, so I might not be reachable all the time.
Additionally, I have some further questions to ask you:
Are you eligible to work in the United States?
Do you have any criminal records? If so, please provide details.
Are you under the age of 18, and do you have an employment/age certificate if this is the case?
I would like to know your honesty and how I can trust you with funds.
How often do you check your email?
Also, can you confirm what days/hours you are available and whether you can be available next week?
I did answer the questions they asked, though with the one about funds I very specifically put this in my reply: "Yes; I had procurement cards in the past when I worked for Dell. No issues came up during that time." Something struck me as a bit odd with the way how things were going so far, so I put that in there specifically to show that nothing would be going through my accounts (I had a friend who fell for something similar). I also asked the following question:
"Since the role is going to be so email heavy, will the emails be coming through whatever email domain National Signs uses, or something else? I'm used to having corporate laptops when doing remote work along with associated accounts, so I wanted to clarify how that would be done."
I have received no further emails since then. When I did some digging this morning I found the initial ScamPulse.com report from yesterday.
