On 21 October 2016, A man claiming to be Chris West and his associate pulled in my driveway at around 5:30 PM and claimed to have some packages of meat that a nearby customer has cancelled on. He used high pressure sales tactics to sell a few cases of meat to my wife and I, claiming it was high quality meat from a processing facility in Texas. He had a high quality price sheet, and offered to give us the meat for half off the listed price. We agreed to the terms based on the claimed quality. We thankfully paid via credit card. After he left, I started looking into some of his claims. It appears that the packaging company "Lonestar Steaks of Texas", is known for selling very low grade meat at inflated prices under the guise of high quality meat. The number he provided me for contact appears to be a non-working number. We have not eaten any of the meat since purchase. I am now aware of a FCC law for New York that requires all door to door salemen to be licensed, and also a requirement to provide two copies of a cancellation form, which he did not.
