My initial contact started through this businesses F.B. account about a 2001, Porsche Carrera for sale. At first I tried repeatably to call the number listed and got nothing but busy signal. So I sent a message that I was interested in buying the car. I was asked for my e-mail address so they could contact me. The following day I received a e-mail from a lady that owned the car telling me the reason she was selling was her husband was gone and that the car had belonged to him and she just wanted to sell it quickly. I received several e-mails from her concerning the sale of the car and was told it was crated and ready to ship from Mississippi and that shipping to my home was included. First she had to have a copy of my drivers license an full shipping address and like a dummy I sent it. Now this was before I knew that it was being represented by EBay. The car was supposed to be listed also on EBay and she was telling me to make the purchase EBay Purchase Protection. So I got curious and tried looking the car up on EBay. I buy a lot from them so I was well aware of EBay Motors and that they brokered other folks vehicles. Ebay had never heard of the vehicle because I had the VIN# and I know through my bank the VIN# does exist and it is registered to a Porsche Carrera of that year and model. I have forwarded all of the e-mails to the proper authorities including EBAY, ic3.gov, and the B.B.B. in Mercer, PA.. To let you know how convincing these scam artist are...they have sent me a copy of the title with the sellers name, and just this morning I received a call from a young lady with a very thick foreign accent representing EBAY Purchase Protection. I hope this report serves as a warning to any and all that read it...the old saying still stands today...if it sounds to good to be true it probably is!!
