My mother and sister were trying to purchase a beagle puppy as a birthday gift for my 4 year old son. He is autistic and they thought a new puppy would be great for him as a sort of therapy dog. The person selling the dog had asked for an initial payment of $230 and upon receiving the puppy we would pay the remaining fee. Upon paying the initial payment my mother was given a tracking number we’re we could see the status. After typing the number in we saw a notice that we needed to pay for the pet to be shipped to us from Texas to Boston and that 97% of that payment would be refunded upon delivery of the pet. My sister paid this fee of over 600 dollars. Once paid the shipping information was updated and now said we needed to pay for a pet insurance policy in case anything happened during the flight. This is when the red flags went up for my sister who is only 22. The phone number that was being used to exchange messages has since been disconnected. The number the shipping company has listed on their website which is www.quick-transports.com is not in service. Needless to say the money is gone and even more devastating is explaining to my son that there is no puppy.
