This company basically promised to negotiate with my student loan lender to get my monthly loan repayment significantly reduced to little to nothing. I was told that I would have to reapply every 12months submitting proof of my income and make payments consecutively on time for over the course of 10 years and at that point the remaining balance of what I owed would be dismissed due to the President Obama student loan forgiveness bill. They charged me a fee of $800 which was supposedly based on the amount of my student loans. I was told the process would take 60-90days. Even though I was skeptical, I went through with it because this company was recommended to me by my cousin who heard about it through her sister and it worked for both of them. At the same time I had in the back of my mind that that everything worked out ok for my cousin and her sister so after asking a few questions about the company I went ahead and signed. The person assisting me was named Steven and he spoke with a British accent. I signed formal documents through sign and was emailed copies. I was told that I would receive an official package in the mail about a week later but never did. Someone contacted me each week that I was set up to make a payment as a reminder that payment would be withdrawn from my account the next day. After I made my final payment I contacted Steven a couple of times on separate occasions to check the status and he assured me that they were working on it and not to worry. A few weeks passed and I tried calling again but could not reach anyone. The phone just rang and the mailbox was full. I tried to send an email but no response. I never heard from Steven nor anyone else again. I called again the following week and the contact numbers were no longer in service. My cousin proceeded to contact the lady that processed her information and got the same. My lender was never contacted by this company and they failed to follow through with what they offered to do for me and I lost out on my money. All of this happened within a two month span. I notified my bank of what happened which they initially reimbursed me but after doing their own investigation and reviewing my documents decided that based on me agreeing to this company withdrawing money from my account this was not considered fraud and withdrew the money back from my account. Yes I did agree to paying them but they never followed through with the service they were to provide and never contacted my lender therefore I feel that I was scammed.
