Got an email with Geek Squad logo saying a repair agreement was going to be charged if we didn’t call to cancel. We had an agreement last year so that seemed legit. Then he remoted into our computer and said he was going to refund the charge back to our bank account. He had us enter the amount to transfer as 150 but then he took over the mouse secretly and made it 15000 to look like it was pending in our account. He said we needed to get the money back to him. He didn’t have a US account. We needed to send an international wire. Then he wanted cash or wanted us to go to Walmart and get $500 gift card as a good faith effort. We kept being skeptical about the whole thing but we could see the money pending in our account. I called Geek Squad. They said it was a scam. I told the guy and of course he had a come back. I then called my bank while he was still on the line. Discovered that it was an internal transfer from my linked bank account. It was my money being moved and he was trying to get us to give him cash. Told him he was busted at that point. We did not lose anything and haven’t had an issue with my bank account. Be aware. They are very convincing.
