I’ve been searching for a puppy for months and found a website that looked legit. I called and spoke with the man. I googled to see if it was a scam. Nothing came up. I asked to see a video of the puppy and see pics of it’s parents. All was provided. The man seemed to be a family man as I could hear that he w[censored]ding a baby. I decided to trust him and used Zelle to wire him the cost of the dog. I received the bill of sale and flight info. As this was a purchase from another state. Then I received a call from a transportation co. The next day. They stated that the dog was cleared to fly and that all paperwork checked out but that they needed me to pay $1500 to insure the dog and that they would give me my money back in cash when they delivered the puppy. That was a red flag..then I said I’m not paying that. Then they said it was required by usda and that it was neglect. Then I called the owner who said he would see what he could do. Then the transportation co. Called me and said it was considered neglect and that the airline took the dog and that it will be in quarantine for 60 days. Then I started asking common sense questions because that was ridiculous. Then I called the owner and he said that he has to file a claim to get the dog back and that he could not refund me until he gets the dog back and for me to be patient. Then I asked for this to be in writing that he would give me my money back and that I would get a refund. He said he would. He never did. Now his phone is no longer in service.
