Unsolicited phone call on 5/2/21 offering 50% reduction in DirectTV monthly bill for next 24 months if I purchased 6 months today and payed for that with $300 of eBay cards. That would also give me $100 credit towards further bills. I was faxed a password and phone number to call with the details of the gift cards. The initial caller was female with American accent. She asked for approximate monthly bill and did not care about accurate amount. I agreed to this deal and was handed over to male with Indian or Pakistani accent to give me details required and ask for last 4 numbers of my SSN. I received fax with pass code and number to fax card details.

The caller was familiar with local large retailers who carried eBay gift cards. The offer was good for 24 hrs. If I waited until 5/3/21 to get gift cards then the $100 credit would not be available.

It all sounded too good to be true - as it is. I called DirectTV to see if this was a new promotion and informed that no such promotion existed. I went no further. I notify you as it may be a newer local scam?
