My husband received an email from [email protected] offering him a job as a remote data analyst. They offered him pay at $80/hour, with health benefits right off the bat. They never asked for a phone or zoom interview. My husband lost his job a few weeks ago and this offer seemed too good to be true. The name he gave us was Eugene. The person my husband talked with didn't have the best english. We didn't think anything of it because they employ a lot of individuals who are Ukrainian, living in the states. Eugene gave him a very specific list of things that he would need to purchase before his training could begin. In order to purchase these items, they emailed my husband a check that he was to deposit into his account. He was told the funds would be available this morning but they were not. Eugene said he talked to their financial department and said there was going to be a problem with releasing the funds and said that my husband would need to pay their vendor and they would order the items. My husband suggested canceling the check and having them order the items and have them shipped. Eugene has not contacted him since. Thankfully we figured it out before it was too late and we didn't lose anything.
