I received a telephone call from an unknown woman saying she was with Spectrum cablevision and that I qualified for a 50 percent discount on my cablevision bill, and for me to call 1-855-0943-1804 for further information. In my estimation my cable bill is high, so I thought I would call "Spectrum", for more information on this "50 percent discount" on my monthly charge. So the man I talked too, told me this, I would get a monthly rate of $79.99, about 1/2 of what I am now paying, for 3 years, but I would have to PREPAY 5 months of service, I assume with a credit card, and I would get an "AUTHORIZATION CODE, to receive 3 years of cablevision at this discount rate, RED FLAGS WENT UP FOR ME AT THAT POINT, I told him I would think about it, and hung up the telephone, this is a SCAM!

I called the REAL Spectrum, telephone number that is on my monthly statement, which has the very same area code (855) as the scammers. The lady I talked with told me that Spectrum Cablevision was aware of this scam. Some agency or government agency ought to be able to put this SCAM/OPERATION out of business or bring some kind of charges against whoever is running this SCAM!

I may also contact the state Attorneys General office in Raleigh, concerning this scam. These people (scammers) were VERY SMOOTH operators, hopefully, not too many people have been taken in with their "discount."
