Initially contacted by a door to door salesman about solar panels. Set up a phone call with their “engineer”. We expressed interest in solar but wanted more information on cost benefit/energy savings. The engineer on the phone claimed they could make it cost free for us with no cost at all (which was a red flag), saying they had finished their installations in our neighborhood and met their quota but would try to squeeze us in. (Why did they have salesmen going door to door if this was the case?) He then asked what our professions were and we replied that we didn’t feel comfortable sharing personal information that wasn’t pertinent. He then said he was just looking for ways to get extra rebates (but if it would be free, why the need for extra rebates). We declined and asked him to move on with the conversation. He then said that we obviously weren’t that serious about solar power and we should maybe try again next year. This seemed completely unreasonable. We ended the conversation and I received a nasty text from this engineer stating that our personalities were to blame and assaulted our character and that he hoped we got what we deserved in life. This is completely unprofessional and makes me think this business isn’t what it seems.
