A client went online to apply for a lost Social Security Card. I later dug into this website because a lot of the details did not sit well with me. After talking to the "owner" of the web design company, whom also claimed to be the owner of the company found on-line, he refused to provide proof that this service was legitimate. I was simply to take his word, just because. Fortunately, my client stopped all incoming drafts to his bank account, but now it is a sit and wait game with, not only his, social security number, but his father's as well. After doing even more extensive research on both companies, and the person I spoke with, I found that addresses, phone numbers, and names are not consistent on any level!! I am going to provide information for both companies that I dealt with in regards to the specific situation, and I'm sure after investigating from there, you will understand what my client's concern was.
