- San Antonio, TX, USA

Received several calls from late evening or very early morning but didn't answer these call from this unknown caller. However today, 4 December 2020, at approximately 12:52 p.m., I answered, and a voicemail informed me that "Social Security, a federal agency of government," had "suspended my Social Security number" due to "suspicious activity," and that if I wanted to correct the problem, "press one." Angered by this obvious illegal ploy, I pressed one on my keypad and a male voice answered "Social Security Administration." There was some background noise, too, that sounded like a boiler room of other bad actors receiving and making other illicit calls. I said to the man who answered, "Tell me about this scam you're running before I report you," which statement caused the bad actor to hang-up. This fraud is a violation of federal law and I demand something be done.

I have been receiving calls from Social Security. They called four times today.I usually don't answer. This time I answered the call because the phone number in my caller ID was similar to mine. ************. He said my Social Security number has been compromised. Press one to speak with someone. I did not not press one. I hung up. I knew it was a scam call. I don't give out information.

It was a robo call with a man voice. It claims that my social security number had fraud activity and that it will be frozen. Then it tells me to press one(1) on the phone to hear more information. I just hang up the phone. And they call in the late evening hours, so I knew that it was a scam.

This isn't the first time these computer voice scammers have called me about social security fraud. I need to press one to speak to a live agent. When you do it sounds again like a call center. They say they are police and when I ask for name and badge number they give me some fake one. I ask for their license number again fake number. I ask why are you located in texas and not DC? They hang up because they don't want to play anymore.

I have received a couple call on my cell phone from 615-436-1248 with the message that I'm being investigated for fraud on my social security number. It request that I call back on this number immediately. I don't think Social Security would call on my cell phone so I think this is some sort of scam.
