This call started with a voice recording warning of an identity security breach. "Diago Dalot" from the "Social Security Administration" came on the line in person to inform me my Social Security number had been stolen. He started the conversation by giving me his "badge#" and "Case ID#" and telling me my name and SS# is being used to open bank accounts linked with illegal drug trafficking and money laundering in Mexico and Columbia. He said because my name and SS# are linked with these illegal activities there is a warrant for my arrest. He started inquiring about my banking information (for my safety, of course). After persisting, I refused to give him any information, told him it sounded like a scam, and he ended the call swearing at me as I laughed at him. A family member has fallen for these scammers and I just wanted to warn others.
