Type of a scam Phishing
I received a message from Google a few moments ago letting me know that they had requested ownership of my Google My Business listing with an option to approve or reject their request.
I clicked Reject, of course, but the Google form said that they may still be granted access to my listing if they complete 'verification'.
I don't know what is involved in completing Google's verification, but fingers crossed that they are not able to do so, as this listing is mine, created by me, and should not be turned over to just anyone that wants to attempt to request ownership of it.
I wanted to share this information just to make others aware, in case an attempt is made to hijack their listings as well.
