I got a call from "Robert brooks" who said he works at smith Warner and associates at 27068 la Paz road suite 559 Alison viejo ca 92656. He said a best buy debt of mine(a legitimate account I had at 22) had landed in his office and they wanted to settle the debt for me. I agreed to pay as much a I could considering I don't work because I have a severely disabled child and would have to borrow money. I was sent emails, had 30min conversations on the phone with "Robert brooks" and he sent a settlement form to my home. However, when I made my first payment and tried to call back to make sure everything was ok, the number was disconnected, I can't find any means of getting intouch with them and I have paid ove six hundred towards a debt that apparently went to a scam artist. Now not Only did they wipe my bank account, I'm still in debt and have no idea how to resolve this matter. The number I called and spoke to "Robert brooks" on (on 1/29/2016 and 1/30/2016) was disconnected when I tried to call again on 2/1/2016. What do I do?
