I was searching online for a particular type of puppy and open the website of Smith Havanese Home. I filled out an online form inquiring about one of the puppies and received an email within a couple minutes I'm submitting. The website itself was well-designed and didn't raise any Flags. On the other hand the email had several spelling and grammatical errors. I continued to exchange information with the breeder nothing more than where I was located, they inquired about what Veterinarian Service I would use Etc. As we continue to correspond things just didn't seem to add up very well so I started to do some searching. First I looked for complaints or testimonials for the company which of course brought me back to their website. It wasn't until I search the address of the breeder and found that it was in actuality in a single-family home with no business records. When I researched the phone number I came across to complaints to the Better Business Bureau but under a different companies name Joy Scottish Fold, this company had been selling kittens. The people that had purchased the kittens never received them and were first asked to send additional 15 to $1,600 to complete the transaction. It's very hard to keep track of scammers when they continually change the name of their companies phone number seem to be the only tracking. I was glad that I did not let it the emotion of the puppy get in the way of doing my due diligence.
