I booked a flight online with smartcheapfares to get a discounted flight price trying to get home on what little money I had. About 30 minutes after they charged my card they called me and said that they had over booked the flight so if I wanted to still fly on the flight I booked I had to pay another 300. And if I didn't that my flight was going to be cancelled and they would not refund the money I had already paid. So I then called Delta airlines which was suppose to be the airline I was flying on and they had no record of a ticket for me, no ticket number and nothing in the system under my name either.

Searching for airfares, went to cheapiaur site and this site SmartCheapFares came up. We booked the flights we wanted for $544.00 round trip. It gave us confirmation numbers, full schedule, etc....we printed it and thought we where good to go! Then we get a phone call from this site stating we are only on stanby for the requested flights. If we would like a confirmed flight we would need to pay another 500 dollars. They said they have already billed my A/E card but called AE and they did not show charges, so cancelled that card. Just a big nervous event! What a pain! We then went directly to the airline website and got the same flights we originally booked (of course more money than original price) but felt relieved.

The site offers a discounted rate and then they contact you and tell you the airline cannot provide a ticket at that price and you’re on standby. They essentially lure you in to give you nothing. I told them to cancel and they said it’s non cancelable and nonrefundable. I told them I’d dispute it and he spoke over me and hung up. I then received an email that my flight is cancelled and I’ll receive a voucher. My card hasn’t been charged and I’ll just dispute it. DO NOT FALL FOR THE SCAM. They also use this number (866) 617-7969

Offered airline fare that was about $50-$80 less expensive than other agents at a total cost of $274.95. Indicated "no bags allowed" in description of booking, but did not explain or provide contact number. I took that to mean no checked bags on this American Airlines flight. One half-hour after booking online, the company called me to explain that absolutely no bags were allowed by the airline due to low cost of ticket. I argued that American always allows a carry-on and additional small hand-bag. They said no. I asked to cancel this booking and they told me to hold and they would check the cost of the flight with a carry-on allowed. They came back and told me it would cost $639.65. I then asked if I could check a bag for additional cost on the original $275 flight. I had a hard time understanding their thick Indian accent. They said yes, but I believe they were referring to the more expensive fare. I said ok. I then asked them the total price for the fare and they said $639.65. I then told them no, that I thought they indicated I could pay for extra baggage on the lower cost flight. They said too bad and they would not refund or cancel the booking. They said they could cancel the booking, but I would have to pay the full $639.65. The next day I called American Airlines. They told that my credit card was used to purchase an airline ticket, but the charge was still pending. I asked them to cancel the charge, and they did since they honor a 24-hour cancellation period. I then made the same booking directly through American using a different card. The cost was $317.95. There were no baggage restrictions. Smart Cheap Fares called to tell me that they would reduce the $639 cost through them by about $100, and I just hung up on them. I have a pending charge on my credit card from them for the original $275, which I intend to dispute once it is posted. Smart Cheap Fares takes your credit card, buys a regular priced ticket and then tells you that you can't take any bags with you. Since they have the ticket that you paid for, they will then try numerous ways (check some of the reviews on Google) to charge double or more. They need to be stopped!

They tried to do a bait and switch with me. I booked my fare for $277. I got an email the next day saying my card was not verified, but to send a picture of credit card and my driver license ID. Then you wanted to book me with a higher price fare.

They offered a airline ticket for $300. I accepted and sent all my info and credit card information. They later called me and tried to upsell me. I said no thank you. They said, "okay your ticket will be emailed in 2 hours" 2 days later they called back and tried to upsell me again. I refused. They said they would not refund the money and I'll be liable to buy the ticket up until the date I requested. Which was December 29th, 5 1/2 months away

I went on line to purchase airline tickets for an upcoming trip to Long Beach, CA. I clicked on Cheapair.com and their website came up. I clicked on it and it looked ligitimate so I went through the process of purchasing tickets to Long Beach one way for $207.00 each for a total of $414.00. I received an email June 9 or 10 with an Itinerary. It had an Agency Confirmation number #7596 but no airline confirmation number. Using the phone number provided on the email material 877-869- 1494. I communicated with an individual from SmartCheapfares after receiving an email saying they had being trying to reach me. The person told me that I needed to pay $154 per person for baggage because I purchased an economy fare ticket. I responded that Southwest airlines let you have 2 bags free regardless of the price of the ticktets. He insisted that I had to pay for bags or change to a regular flight or change my airport to LAX. Either senerio would be additional money. I refused and hung up. Later that evening I received a email stating that my reservation had been cancelled which was nonrefundable and that I need to call and upgrade. I went to Southwest airlines website to check if they had a record of the tickets purchased and I could not pull up anything because I did not have a valid confirmation number from the information SmartCheapfares provided.

While searching for cheap airline fare, there's came up with good price. Confirmation stated they would send itinary when billed and they would call to confirm. They then called and said that price was no longer available and I must pay a higher price and that I could not cancel and I could not check luggage or have a carryon unless I upgraded. They said I could also change to a higher costing flight. I had also used them 2 weeks prior to book a flight. After this I checked and they never booked the flight. Even though my cc has not been charged, now I have to find a ticket in a short window and pay higher price. They again say I cannot cancel.
