I was looking for a puppy and the local shelters didn't have what I was looking for so I did an online search and found the most precious puppy. The puppy was on smartyorkies.com and I made contact through the website. Someone emailed me back and several emails to follow discussing the puppy and how he would be with the family, then they (Teddy Johnson 501-708-1008 of Arkansas) asked for payment through Western Union. I didn't know puppy scams existed and I wasn't aware of WU scams, guess I should have done research but I'm too trusting. I sent the money and as soon as they received it they emailed stating they would send the puppy the following morning. I was so excited and the following morning I received an email with the carrier information and the puppy's departure and arrival information. I went to town and bought toys, a collar, leash etc. But then I received an Urgent email from the carrier ( PetCarriersUSA.com, Alvin Sanders [email protected] 501-232-8299) stating that the puppy was required to have travel insurance in case there was an accident, but that the insurance was 98% refundable upon safe delivery of the puppy. So again I was asked to pay WU, so I did and went home thinking I would have my puppy later that day. To my amazement, I received another urgent email stating that the puppy needed vaccines and a new airline approved kennel. I called immediately and left a message stating that I knew the puppy was up to date on vaccines and the documents were affixed to the kennel and that I was not paying and to return the puppy and I would come pick him up....no more contact since. I left emails, texts and messages at both parties and have not heard back. I went online and inquired about the puppy with my mom's information and they responded that the puppy was still available - I probably shouldn't have but I responded "How can that be if my daughter purchased him and he's supposed to be en-route?" Again no more responses. I hope if one person learns from my mistake then there's a little positive to come from all this.

Looking for a teacup yorkie and found the site in search engine. Received email that seemed like a form letter. Addressed me as “Dear Client.” Free shipping was offered with pup cost of $500. When sharing my excitement with a friend I was warned to ask for photo with a newspaper to prove date. She then sent me a scam report from petscams.com to stop me. I tried the phone number and got a machine. And there was no record found for the number either.

September7, 2019, came across website for teacup yorkies. I was looking for a companion since I am a senior on a fixed income. Beautiful and cute pictures of tiny yorkies, no bigger than the hand in one of pictures. Filled in form about the one called princess, received information back that she was available, for $500.00 needed to be sent by Western Union, due to security concerns related to illegal credit card use, online payment can sometimes be declined. We will advice you kindly proceed to make payment in person/cash at a Western Union Store.

This should have sent up a RED flag. THe information to send the wire to was Shane Wilson, Little Rock, Arkansas Zip code 72202 The e mail also state Full payment is required to shipping. Give yourself at least 2 business days before the expected arrival date to make sure we have received your payment in time to process all required documents and health check. We will within 2 business days, confirm your order, process all required paperwork, have our licensed Vetereinarian perform last minute routine check up on your puppy and book the flight for a Monday, Wednesday or Friday (You may indicate which day suits you best). Let us know which day is more convenient for you???

Heard one time from them by text message on September 14, 2019 all it said was Good Morning. How are you doing?

I have texted them, e mailed them and nothing, I even called once they have it go directly to voice mail.

I would like the puppy or have my money back. I wish there was someway to take these scammers and show them how much they hurt the honest people of this country. I wonder houw they would feel if someone scammed their parents or siblings or even their children?

My mother found a Yorkie on the web site and paid the 500$. I wanted to get the same type of dog for us to become pet moms at the same time. Clovis Powell required a western union money order in advance. Shipping was set up for the first puppy and my mother got the ‘puppy life insurance’ email. I called the number and got no help and was then blocked from calling. We are out over 1000$. If the purported breeder does not take a credit card and cannot provide proof of licensing, they are a scam!
