I switched web hosting providers and received an email from *** *** that starts with "Dear valued customer. Thank you for protecting your website with ***." Later in the email it says "Thank you for being a continued *** customer." It certainly LOOKS like I have somehow accidentally signed up for their services, but I haven't.

My new web host said of *** "Many businesses monitor newly registered/recently updated domains in order to offer their web design/SEO services or other services, such as security services, by spamming domain owners with unsolicited messages and phone calls. However *** is not associated with any such business. *** is not associated with *** and we have not made your information available to this company."

*** is at the very least deceptive.
