I called HewlittPackard Tech S upport for help with my printer. The first Tech took my information including a credit card number, which was required by HP in order to send me a replacement printer.He then referred me to s second HP Tech who accessed my computer with my permission on the pretext of trying to fix the printer and then proceeded to try to sell me a $450 contract with Simplify Tech Solutions, a company I had never heard from and a product that I didn't need or want. My credit card was used to complete the transaction and when I protested, both Techs argued with me. I finally hung up on them at which point they proceeded to send porn to my computer until I finally turned it off. Had to close down my computer and change every password, reinstall all of my apps I immediately contacted my credit card co. to lose the account, but they still are charging me $450 and say it is a dispute. I also had to pay my own computer repair person $105 so far to help me restore the computer and install the new printer. I don't have an email address or even a proper address for Simplify Tech. I have asked HP to investigate the behavior of their Tech S taff but have not heard anything back from them. My Computer Repair person tells me that at least 24 other people living in my area whom he knows have been scammed in similar ways.
