I was contacted in 2017 by the Simple repayment company. They told me they would set me up on a payment plan and contact my student loan company and keep me in good standing with them. They said that I was to pay $49 a month until the amount of $1300+ was paid and they would make all the student loans go away. I agreed to have this done as long as my student loans were dismissed. However this is a scam. When you contact the loan company Equitanle Acceptable Corporation (the company that takes the money from my account). They tell you to contact the original people (simple repayment). They were saying that this fee was only for paperwork to be filed on my behalf, however this is not what was told me when I signed up for this arrangement. This company is just a scam to get money from you in hopes that they will take care of your student loans. After discovering this I have contacted the department of education to set up an actual payment plan to fix my account. This company will not longer be receiving any money from me.

First of I want to say that the following organization called “Student Advisors” or “Simple Repayment” or “Equitable Acceptance” is a scam and fraud. They make you believe that they can assist you with consolidating your student loans and explain that when you consolidate your loans you will end up paying less, which is a lie. They do not explain very well the service they are trying to provide for you. They are deceiving and make you think they will help you consolidate and pay down your student loans when they are not doing anything. The only thing they do is collect all of your personal information to gain access to sign into your student loan holders account information such as Navient so they can make changes on your behalf. This should be an illegal process. This isn’t what they advertise or explain when they are trying to convince you that they can help consolidate your student loans. Then, they charge you $1,339.00 plus 21% interest at $49 per month for a service that you aren’t even sure they are providing in clear form as they don’t explain it well. Then, they submit all these documents to your email without explaining what the documents are for or their purpose. In addition, I live in the state of Connecticut and was told to provide a New York address so I provided my mom’s address and they used that address to create my profile, which should also be illegal. I recently tried to email Student Advisors email address at [email protected] or [email protected] and received a failure, undelivered returned email stating the email I contacted doesn't exist. So you can't even reach anyone to ask questions or cancel. Its disturbing and an un-ethical business.

Simple Repayment claimed to be a partner with Great Lakes Financial (who has my student loans) saying I had to do my annual recertification for income based payments. I had already done this with a Great Lakes earlier this year, that's when I realized these people are stealing my money that's suppose to go to my student loans.
